Vadodara Institute Of Neurological Sciences Complaint – Inappropriate Consulting Fees

Subject: Inappropriate Consulting Fees
My Name: Ashishkumar Dixit
My City: Vadodara
My Complaint Against: Vadodara Institute of Neurological Sciences
Complaint Category: Doctors & Hospitals
Claim Amount (Approx.): 4000.00
My Complaint Description:
Dear Sir/Madam,

Today I visited the above hospital with prior appointment of 1245 IST. When I reached there with my wife, well in time; but the Doctor (Mr Monish Malhotra) did not arrive in the hospital. So, we had to keep waiting for 45 Minutes. While I booked the appointment I had clearly explained to the person over phone about my concerns regarding pain. Then I double checked with her if Dr Monish Malhotra was the concerned Doctor or not. She said yes that Dr Malhotra is the concerned doctor and accordingly she sent me to his cabin in Hospital (Room # 2).

After checking for around 7 minutes Dr Malhotra felt that he was not the concerned Doctor and he asked me to visit another Doctor in the same premises (i.e. VINS Hospital). When we came out and checked at Reception about the other doctor – they asked us to pay 800/- Rs as a consultant fees for Dr Malhotra and asked to pay another 800/- Rs for the Doctor whom Mr Malhotra had suggested !

We found it illogical! How can they keep on charging patients for multiple times when they find that they are not the concerned doctor?! And they recommend another doctor being in the same premises?!So, we approached their Director Mr Ajay Kapur for such inappropriate charges their hospital was claiming from patient.

But, unfortunately the way Mr Thakur (who is a director of VINS) has reciprocated to me and my wife – was extremely unexpected, unprofessional and very rude! He said it is their business and if any patient enters in the cabin of any Doctor even for 2 minutes – one will have to pay the consultancy charges, Even if he is not the concerned doctor for the patient. He said he has started this Institute only and only for business and not for charity. He gives damn to the Noble Principles of Medical Profession! He then said that we can go to any authority of Government to complaint about it – he doesn't care of any official(s) in the government authority!

This is really ridiculous, unprofessional and inhuman! People like Mr Thakur and Dr Monish Malhotra must be treated appropriately so that they consider the patient's problems and act accordingly. I am surprise how these kinds of people survive in such a noble profession, so far?!
